MEET SUSAN
Hi, I’m Susan!
As a Christian Counselor and Relationship Coach, I help Christian women navigate the unique pressures of their life so they can live joyful, confident, productive, and strong. That is not where my story started, however. Actually, the difficulties and transitions I faced in my own life influenced my work and business decisions. So now, I bring a broad range of personal and professional experience, education, and training to my work with Christian women and Blended Families. Focuses include building healthy relationships and lifestyles and dealing with life issues (such as depression, fatigue, grief, divorce, step-parenting, caregiving, and end-of-life concerns). I am putting my education and experience as a Stepmom (28 years) to work helping Stepmoms and Stepparents nurture family relationships worth celebrating.
In 2008 I founded Between Steps to offer Biblical conflict resolution and Christian counseling services in Clemson, South Carolina.
Since 2020, my mission has been carried out under the brand Susan Millsaps at SusanMillsaps.com. I want Christian women to experience remarkable transformation in their relationships and daily life routines. As Christian women, we can joyfully grow together and make a difference in our families, churches, and communities.
Because engaging with others in community settings (local and/or virtual) accelerates our growth process, I host “Walking by the Way.” This safe, online space gives Christian women the opportunity to engage, learn, and grow together.
As a writer, I love putting life experience, lessons learned, and my faith into words through my blog, “Of Crooked Trees and Long Roads,” at susanmillsaps.com/blog.
Today, my husband, Barry, and I split work time between the old homeplace in Robbinsville, North Carolina, and our home in Clemson, South Carolina. One-on-one Christian Counseling and Relationship Coaching services are now offered in two beautiful locations and also online via Zoom.
At Home with the Millsaps
We are life-long enthusiasts of family time, mountain time, music time, and Bible time. Favorite days start with long chats over hot coffee in our woodland cove in North Carolina or my Cherry Garden when in South Carolina. God’s morning mercies enrich our chats as we read His word and pray together.
Together we love exploring new ideas, places, and local food spots. Our hikes and travels often include detours to search for new clues about old ancestors from our beloved Southern Appalachians.
For extra fun, we are expanding our love of Old-Time Mountain Music and Bluegrass music and sharing the joy as “Ridgeline Harmony.” Barry is the lead guitarist, and I love singing the harmony part. Someday my mandolin may join the duo, but it is still struggling to get up to tempo.
